Chloe & Andrew’s Destination Wedding at COMO Point Yamu, Phuket
Travelling from Hong Kong to Thailand for Their Dream Wedding Celebration
As a wedding photographer based in Phuket, one of the most beautiful trends I’ve noticed lately is how intentional couples have become about their guest lists. More and more, destination weddings are no longer just about throwing an extravagant party or escaping to a breathtaking location. They’re about creating a deeply meaningful experience and sharing it with the people who truly matter.
When your wedding is thoughtfully centred around you and your closest family and friends, the entire celebration feels different. There’s an overwhelming sense of ease and emotional openness, knowing you’re surrounded by people who know you intimately and love you wholeheartedly. Rather than feeling like hosts responsible for entertaining a large crowd, you give yourself permission to relax and savour every moment fully.
Celebrating at COMO Point Yamu, One of Phuket’s Most Iconic Wedding Venues
Travelling from Hong Kong, Chloe and Andrew chose to celebrate their special day with their loved ones at COMO Point Yamu in Phuket. Perched above the Andaman Sea with sweeping views across Phang Nga Bay, the setting was perfect for a celebration that felt both refined and incredibly heartfelt.
From getting ready in the morning through to letting their hair down at the afterparty, their day was filled with immense warmth and joy—the unmistakable feeling that every person present truly belonged there.

Getting Ready Moments
On the morning of the wedding, Chloe and Andrew got ready separately with their respective wedding parties. There was the sweetest sense of anticipation in the air as the finishing touches came together, along with time for relaxed group photos.
Whether you choose to get ready together or apart, the morning of your wedding often sets the tone for the rest of your day. Make sure you’re super intentional about who you invite into that space, surrounding yourself with people who help you feel calm and supported. A nourishing breakfast, incorporating a gentle activity like a morning swim, yoga, or Pilates session, and allowing plenty of time before the ceremony can help you ease into the day without feeling rushed.
An Intimate First Look & Private Vows Before the Ceremony
Before welcoming their guests in the late afternoon, Chloe and Andrew shared a private first look in their wedding suite. Seeing each other for the first time away from the crowd gave them a chance to exhale and share an intimate moment before the official ceremony began.
They also chose to exchange their vows in private, bearing their heart with no one else around. Creating space for vulnerability, there were tears and laughter as they honoured the significance of the day ahead. It was an incredibly tender moment to witness.
Guest Arrival & Welcome Drinks
At 4:30 pm, guests began arriving at COMO Point Yamu for welcome drinks, mingling and filling a guest book with personal messages and candid polaroids for Chloe and Andrew.
From a practical perspective, offering pre-ceremony welcome drinks is always a great idea. Wedding days rarely run exactly to schedule, and this gives guests time to settle in and enjoy themselves while also creating a small buffer if the couple is running slightly behind. It helps the entire celebration begin on a relaxed and unhurried note.
A Stunning Outdoor Wedding Ceremony Overlooking Phang Nga Bay
Although the early evening brought overcast skies and a light sprinkle of rain, Chloe and Andrew were prepared with elegant, clear umbrellas for their guests. Rather than detracting from the ceremony, the moody sky added a sense of drama and romance to the sensational views over Phang Nga Bay.
The ceremony platform was adorned with lush white and green florals by IAMFLOWER, creating a soft, organic contrast against the sprawling ocean backdrop.
Chloe was escorted down the aisle by her parents and two bridesmaids, looking effortlessly elegant in her Alex Perry gown. A vision to behold, her sheer veil draped delicately over her face and flowed into a long train behind her.
Adding an even more personal touch, the ceremony was officiated by Chloe’s brother, Zachary. Having a sibling lead such an important moment made the exchange of vows feel all the more meaningful.
After the emotional ceremony, they took sunset photos with their guests before heading off for a quick hair-and-makeup refresh.
An Outdoor Wedding Reception on the Lawn at Como Point Yamu
Continuing the organic decor theme by the wedding planning and styling team from The Wedding Bliss Thailand, the reception unfolded on the lawn beneath warm, glowing lanterns and twinkling fairy lights. Long tables were styled with lush green and white foliage and flickering candles, creating a romantic and inviting atmosphere. As a thoughtful touch, each guest received a handwritten note from Chloe and Andrew tucked behind their place card.
To kick off the evening, Chloe and Andrew made their grand entrance hand in hand to Dancing in the Moonlight. For the reception, Chloe swapped her sleek low bun for a softer half-up hairstyle and changed into a modern mini dress by Solace London, complete with a dramatic train that brought just the right amount of fun and fashion-forward flair.
Before dinner was served, the couple welcomed everyone with a heartfelt speech of their own. Chevonne then took over as MC, introducing a series of speeches and games throughout the evening, including a hilarious round of bingo that had guests in stitches. The photobooth was also a huge hit, with everyone making the most of the props and capturing plenty of candid memories.
Cake Cutting, Fireworks & an Afterparty to Remember
The evening continued with Chloe and Andrew’s first dance, followed by a spectacular cake-cutting moment. Their long wedding cake, generously topped with fresh strawberries and elegantly piped frosting, was made even more memorable as fireworks lit up the night sky behind them.
Officially launching the afterparty, the couple poured a champagne tower before inviting guests indoors to the dance floor. Chloe changed into a floor-length, sparkling Self-Portrait gown and traded heels for white sneakers, ready to dance the night away in style.
Full of loud laughter and sing-alongs, it was the perfect ending to an unforgettable destination wedding celebration in Phuket.
Celebrating With You Anywhere Across Asia, Europe & Beyond
Planning a destination wedding can feel overwhelming at times, especially when you’re organising everything from overseas and relying on a trusted team of vendors to bring your ideas to life without the chance to see every detail in person.
