Where mesmerising ocean views and deep red hues collide, this Sri Panwa wedding redefines coastal luxury

Travelling to Phuket from Hong Kong, with family and friends flying in from across the globe—Singapore, the United States, China, and beyond—Erin and Di’s destination wedding at Sri Panwa was a wonderful reflection of how love knows no bounds.

From the moment I arrived, I was met with the kind of warmth that makes you feel instantly at home. Erin, Di, and their families exuded such genuine kindness, it felt like we’d known each other forever, even though we were meeting for the very first time.

Visually stunning and emotionally rich, every part of the day was woven with meaning and thoughtful personal touches. It was the perfect blend of classic opulence and contemporary elegance (an aesthetic dream for this Phuket wedding photographer!)—and a joy to capture and witness.

From Hong Kong to Thailand: E & D’s Destination Wedding at Sri Panwa, Phuket

Photographed through a mix of digital and film, each medium brought its own magic. The digital images highlighted the vivid colours and intricate styling, while the film added a soft, cinematic nostalgia that captured how the day felt, not just how it looked.

And don’t forget to stick around till the end—there’s a mini-interview with our gorgeous bride, Erin, you won’t want to miss!

Iconic Pre-Ceremony Energy: Getting Ready & First Look

Photographing Erin and Di—together and individually—on the morning of their wedding was an absolute dream. Honestly, it felt like they were preparing for their 100th wedding with how effortlessly cool and chic they were.

Opting to soak in the morning calm, they got ready in the same villa but in separate rooms (so Di wouldn’t see Erin in her dress before the first look)—just the two of them and their wedding prep team. It was intimate, relaxed, and quietly beautiful. Once they were dressed, we stepped onto the balcony for a first look that was as tender as it was joy-filled.

Before guests began to arrive, we wandered the resort for couple portraits, including a tranquil moment at their ceremony space so we could capture the full, breathtaking setup in its untouched glory.

From spontaneous candids to the more composed shots, countless editorial-worthy frames had me imagining their portraits splashed across the pages of Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar.

Vows with Panoramic Views: Wedding Ceremony at Baba Nest, Sri Panwa

Hosted at Sri Panwa’s Baba Nest, one of Phuket’s most stunning wedding ceremony venues, Erin and Di’s heartfelt celebration felt like a scene from a dream. Surrounded by a stunning infinity pool and sweeping views of the Andaman Sea, it looked and felt like they were floating on water.

The altar was a sculptural masterpiece: a rich spill of crimson, burgundy, and ivory florals framed by soft, creamy drapery, transforming the platform into a cloud-like stage for their intimate vows. A mirrored aisle added a modern touch, reflecting the floral artistry and magnifying the endless horizon of sea and sky.

For the ceremony, Erin wore a minimalist halter gown by Nicole Felicia Couture and a sheer veil adorned with delicate floral appliqués that danced in the breeze. With Di sharply dressed by her side, she looked every bit the goddess—elegant, serene, and completely radiant.

Cherry-Red Accents: Wedding Reception at Baba Sunset Lounge, Sri Panwa

When I first stepped into Erin and Di’s wedding reception, I was floored.

Eschewing the usual whites and neutrals, the bold red accents instantly brought to mind the avant-garde glamour of a Gucci campaign. Where dramatic flair meets understated luxury, the tablescape blended modern floral artistry with deep burgundy taper candles and cascading hues of crimson, softened by classic white draping and transparent ghost chairs for perfect balance.

A nod to their destination celebration, each guest found their seat with a personalised leather luggage tag—beautifully styled alongside red anthuriums and silk ribbon detailing. The bar was just as thoughtful, featuring signature His, Hers, and Ours cocktails, plus an eclectic selection of wines and spirits from around the globe.

For the reception, Erin changed into a stunning off-the-shoulder gown by Jane Hill Bridal, capturing the essence of modern bridal fashion with a timeless twist.

And the cherry on top? Erin sang. A wildly touching and unforgettable moment that added even more heart to an already breathtaking evening.

A Mini-Interview with Our Gorgeous Destination Bride, Erin

After having such a great time chatting with Eva and Kelvin about their Phuket destination wedding at Paresa Resort, I’ve decided to make these little interviews a tradition! It’s always so insightful to hear about the day from my couples’ perspectives—and I know their first-hand tips will be so helpful if you're planning your own destination wedding.

Despite her busy schedule, Erin kindly took the time to answer the nine questions I sent her (thank you, Erin 🤍), and I absolutely loved reading her responses. I hope you enjoy them just as much!

Describe your wedding day in three words.

Erin: “Heartfelt. Magical. Surreal.”

If you had to choose just one standout moment from your day, big or small, what would it be and why?

Erin: “For me, it had to be the moment when I first stepped onto the ceremonial platform holding my father's hand. For the first time, I laid eyes on the congregation of all my closest and dearest friends and family, with my husband-to-be waiting for me at the end of the aisle, against the amazing floral arrangement backdrop and the infinite Andaman sea.

It was like a lifetime of your best relationships and all things wonderful distilled into that one moment—it was truly magical.”

How did it feel when you first saw your sneak peeks?

Erin: “Absolutely floored. You nailed the shots and didn’t shy away from grasping the emotionally raw moments. My husband and I spent days just looking at them nonstop to try and relive our special day.”

Which 3 photos are your absolute favourites?

Erin, watching you sing during your reception was so incredibly moving. Did you always know you were going to sing at your wedding?

Erin: “Thank you! To be honest, I’ve sang for my friends at their weddings in the past, so I thought it would be nice celebrating my friends and loved ones at my own wedding with a song too!

But I was so busy with work and wedding planning that I only had time to practice in the shower! In fact, the morning of the wedding, I was close to scrapping the song from the programme since I was having a blocked nose from a recent flu episode—but I’m so glad I threw caution to the wind and went ahead anyway!

It was a special moment for me, and I hope it was for my guests as well!”

What was your favourite part about planning an overseas wedding in Phuket?

Erin: “The amazing nature and sunset—it’s basically like having a wedding in paradise! Plus, there aren’t many places that let you have your own fireworks show, so I was grateful to be able to take advantage of that.”

How did your friends and family respond when you told them you were planning a wedding in Thailand instead of Hong Kong?

Erin: “Very positively! In fact, about half of our guests flew in from outside Hong Kong (from Singapore, China, and even US), so it was a nice middle ground.

Plus, our friends took it as an opportunity to travel in their respective friend groups, so it was a nice bonding/ reunion activity for old friends!”

Were there any stressful bits about planning your destination wedding?

Erin: “For sure—we actually did any site visit prior to the wedding day as we booked everything via the internet. Not really being about to visualize how things will turn out was quite stressful.
Plus, an overseas wedding means more logistics to handle (settling accommodation and arranging transport for guests etc.)—but seeing how everything came together beautifully, it was all worth the effort!”

Do you have any tips for other couples planning a destination wedding?

Erin: “Start planning early! Especially for places like Phuket, where there are peak seasons during the dry months, popular venues and vendors get snapped up quickly.

And of course, it goes without saying—get a reliable wedding planner—we couldn’t have done it without our amazing planners from MeEvents Phuket who helped us with the design and logistics to pull everything together. They definitely took away a lot of the stress!”

Capturing How Your Love Feels — From Thailand to Europe and Anywhere in Between

I could say so much more about Erin and Di’s Sri Panwa wedding, but I’ll let the images speak for themselves. Even after experiencing it all in person, I still catch myself marvelling at the intricate details—and truthfully, I still haven’t fully recovered!

More than anything, I’m incredibly grateful to have been trusted to document their story. It was an honour to be welcomed into their world and witness their day unfold surrounded by the people who mean the most to them.

As a wedding photographer based in Phuket, I’ll travel anywhere—from Thailand to Europe and beyond—to celebrate by your side. Through a blend of editorial and documentary photography, in both digital and film, we’ll create art that doesn’t just show how it looked, but how it truly felt.
